Just so you know: I used this loupe sometimes, but certainlly not every single day. And I never used it for over 10 minutes at a time total or left it on accidentally. If you're expecting anything resembling even a respectable amount of "life" with these INCLUDED batteries, you are going to be sorely disappointed. A 10-pack of LR1130 button batteries sells right now on Amazon for $4.45. END OF UPDATE.

As one previous reviewer noted "It's a shame you have to hold it so close."

This loupe is larger than I expected and it's not well-suited for trying to read the inside bands on rings. It takes some getting used to and the bright light often makes the job a bit of a challenge. I don't know if there is such a thing as "a field of view" (as with binoculars) when it comes to loupes but I think my old one (misplaced), which was only 14X had a much better, wider field of view.

That said, I have already been able to read things on items of jewelry that before I could not make out, so that's a plus. And the light is wonderfully bright. I love the case and I love that there's an extra battery.

I don't know if I'll be getting much use out of the UV light, but perhaps I can use it on vaseline glass or something.

Sometimes I like to use a loupe to look at bugs, but this loupe probably won't work for that-----you'd have to get too close and the insects and spiders would definitely spook.

All-in-all this is a well-made loupe. The light is great and for the price this is a handy little tool to have.

I needed it for the new jewelry project, and this is exactly what I needed, when I search around the stores they either sell them too expensive or low quality ones, until I came across this one I didn't expected to be this good, I was just thinking to at least get its work done, but its way better than I expected, AWESOME!!!

The glass lenz is very important to me. Sturdy, cleanable, of high enough quality. The lights are plenty bright, and in the right location. on gemstones, i can see all types of inclusions- even very minor ones at this magnification. Also is a great piece for geologic identification. At this price, i can put it in my pocket and be on the go without concern. Would be nice if it came with a suede or microfiber pouch, but since i can only mention the clunky plastic case as a con, im really happy. Maybe i will re-purpose one of those old gemstone bags i bought filled with polished stones at a souvenir shop...you know the ones.

Bought this for a trip to be able to read my map. I wanted something small and the LED light was a plus.

Artistic Wire is the best crafting wire around. The silver-plated copper is a great compromise between real (expensive) silver and craft wire that is just silver colored. The plating is bright and shiny, and best of all it stays that way since it's non-tarish wire. Amazon usually has it for a great price (second only to buying it wholesale, but I don't go through it enough to justify a bulk order). 18 gauge is great for sturdier projects and the bases of wire-wrapped bracelets, earrings, and necklace components. I even use it for ear wires although it is too big for most piercings, but I appreciate that the copper wire and silver plating are non-allergenic (no itchy ears like the standard nickel-plated ear wires!) Thanks for a great product with fast shipping - I will definitely buy again!

This is great wire that works up beautifully. It looks like sterling silver. I use nylon jaw pliers to protect the tarnish-resistant coating. I also dip my finished projects in varnish to keep them from tarnishing. You could also use nail polish on small items.

Although it is labeled "tarnish resistant", it will definitely tarnish if it rests against your skin for any period of time whatever. With all the hours of labor I put into my projects, I want to keep them looking great, so I dip them several times, building up layers of protection. If you choose to dip your pieces, be sure to break apart the links after each time you dip them else the build-up could become too heavy to break apart without showing.

I like this product. It is light weight and easy to use. Great for DIY Rings. I would recommend purchasing a wire straightener for easier handling.
