This gauge strip measures circumference/length, which is fine for bracelets. However, I am turning wooden bangles. So I need to convert the circumference measurement to a radius figure so that I can mark it on the piece that I am turning. I would have preferred the markings to be in inches, but that's just me. I do have a metric ruler lying around somewhere. I looked at another gauge strip that was metal and marked in inches, but some reviewers had trouble getting it to flex enough when measuring smaller sizes. So I'd say this plastic one is a good tool. It is very flexible and reasonably priced. For a woodturner, it would have been even better had there been a conversion chart included with it. I made one for myself and included it here in case you order this gauge and have a need for it.
