First of all, these suckers are little but they're HEAVY! That's a good thing if you're gonna be beating on them with a hammer; I don't think it would be possible to damage the steel with average use.
The letters are 1/4" or about 8mm tall when stamped, and the posts are 2.5" long. They come neatly packed in a sturdy plastic box. These are the kind of tools that you can have your whole life. The letters are clear and make good impressions, all capitals. They are well aligned, not perfect but fine by me.
Just one thing - they come with a lot of some kind of oil in the box, so you might want to take each one out and wipe them off a bit so you don't get that stuff all over your fingers. I turned them all face-up, so they're easy to see and grab.

I recommend this product.
Just what I expected. For those with complaints about "oil", that's what keeps them rust free during shipment. They clean right up with any solvent that will remove oil. Must use them with a metal hammer and work piece should be on a very solid surface. Great results with a little practice.
Could be a little more relief on the letters. I have been putting numbers on some rather hard aluminum dog tags and it takes 4 or 5 sharp hammer blows to get a good letter. I am going to try some softer copper ones and the problem may be more the material than the stamps. Otherwise, they are well made and appear to be a legacy item... last a lifetime.
I was allotle scared to purchase since some said they had letters missing. But I checked and I have all mine. They are nice and heavy. The protective coating does have an odd smell but it was easy to clean off my hands. I got them for a leather project but don't have the leather yet so I'll update if I have issues.
When I went to the local part store & saw this set cost $70 I looked on Amazon & found this set for 1/5 that price.... When they arrived I immediately used them... They are a little tight to pull out individually so I found it easier to just dump them all out... With 1 simple tap (my 4 yr old was swinging the hammer) each letter stamped onto the metal frame of a trailer perfectly & clearly... I made the mistake of double tapping which made it look blurry.. This is a very good product for the money.

No markings to indicate which side is the top of the letter, so if you aren't paying attention, you can stamp a letter sideways or upside down. Also, picking an individual punch out of the box isn't easy; there's no way to properly get a grip.
That said, they're affordable and get the job done. If you're gonna be using these day-in-day-out, you'll want something better, but for occasional use, they're just fine.
Also should note that some of the letters aren't perfectly aligned on the punch (they stamp a little crooked). Not a problem for me, since I care about readability, not looks, but something to be aware of.
Other reviews mentioned an oily coating, presumably to prevent rust. Not a problem, just take a bit of time to wipe it off with a paper towel.
I love the product at this price point. I have other stamps that I like a bit better based on two things.
1. More angular edges. Helps to make a clean stamp on metal surfaces.
2. A marking of some type on the side of the stamp that represents the bottom or top of the letter/number. So you know if you orientation is correct.
Both of these preferences are minor and at this price point I know I’m really cutting hairs but I just want to give my opinion to anyone who wants it.
Everything else considered I would buy these again.
These stamps provide a clean well defined impression. They are very easy to use and appear to be sturdy enough to last for many uses. The 6mm (1/4") size makes it very easy to read.
They work fine. Set has nice plastic storage box. Could have been better with a box with individual storage compartments but I’m happy with the purchase.
This is a great product and it is just what we needed to stamp leather.
