We ordered this tester and loupe from PuriTEST to test diamond and rhinestone jewelry prior to reselling it. We did a "control group" with jewelry we knew were diamonds to become familiar with the process as this was our first tester. We had so much fun testing jewelry! We had this old bracelet that we thought had large rhinestones. Turned out they were real diamonds! This tester more than paid for itself in just what it saved us with that bracelet. It gives off a different sound if you are touching metal. The loupe was a great bonus and shows amazing detail. Excellent tester and very easy to use.

This is a excellent quick way to accurately test most diamonds for the average buyer. I have been buying and selling stones for 20 years and wish I had something like this a long time ago..
Instructions are easy to follow and you can begin testing immediately. I also like the indication via tone on this unit as my eyes aren't what they once were. Very small diamonds can be trickier since contact with the setting is very easy. If you contact metal it will give you some beeps but still is discernably different. Will it catch every stone out there , probably not but it will get most of them if you use the tester properly.
