Seems like the imprints are convex and only the middle actually marks the metal. Softer metals like aluminum work okay with this, but the impressions are very deep. Any other harder metal and I have to either hammer waaay to hard, or more than once, tilting it until the image is complete. Of course this usually results in less-than-great impressions. Maybe it's supposed to be this way, I am new to metal stamping, but my other kits are not like this, sooo yeah. I will try again with this company because they have a great selection of different prints, but I just hope the others are not the same way.

These were only about a dollar more than buying an individual stamp. I've just started to use these types of items, and I found it pretty simple to use and the designs are cute. I look forward to making some fun pendants or charms with these.

Description
Stamp any flat, soft metal. 3 stamps included each with a different fun design. You will get a spiral, paw print and pinwheel design. Use this punch set to personalize metal blanks (made from non-ferrous metals such as Sterling Silver, Copper, Vintaj Natural brass and more). 3/16 Inch (5mm) design. Made of tempered steel for years of service. Use with a metal bench block or anvil and a 16 ounce flat head hammer. Hold your blank in place on a bench block using simple masking tape. The masking tape can also act as a guide to assure your design is in the right spot. Measurements: Punch is 3" in length. Design width for stamps is 5mm (3/16 Inch). I love to stamp, these work pretty well. I have had some trouble getting the whole print to show up. You can tell what it is, it's just not as clear as I prefer. I do use them in my designs, I just have to be very careful to use extra pressure for these die

This is a good quality metal stamp and I love the designs, although I am having trouble getting a full stamp on my metal (I think its because I am new at this and not a product issue). Ill keep practicing!!
I love these stamps! They are a good sixe and stamp deep and clean with a little practice.
