I was pleased to receive this item in the time frame expected and it works well. Takes a little practice to get the metal settings down but with that completed I can tack items in a matter of seconds.
First, you must understand that this product is NOT a TIG welder. It is a spot welder that uses a tungsten probe. This welder is not designed to do a flowing TIG weld, so if that is what you are looking for, this is not the right machine.
Second.... and this is important.... DO NOT EXPECT TO PLUG AND PLAY! What I mean by this is that many people will purchase a machine of this type and expect to plug it in and be an expert. Although the machine is easy to set up and use, you will need to train yourself to use it. You cannot expect to have expert results with a professional machine if you don't know what you are doing!
The machine arrived from China in less than 10 days. It was packaged very well. The machine had been opened and the interior portion with the electronics had also been padded with bubble wrap and close-cell phone. Be sure to open the cover of your welder and remove the packing before plugging in!
There are no instructions. The plugs are color coded, so it is easy to figure out. The coarse and fine tune knobs are standard, so it should not be an issue to figure things out if you have used a welder before.
My model is made for 120V mains power. Be sure to be specific when you order so that you get the right voltage! The power cord that arrived was not for my unit, but I substituted a cord from another piece of machinery - they seem to be all standard.
This is a pulse welder. It is designed to weld in a small spot, not to give a flow. Be certain that when you depress the foot pedal, that you press and release. Do not prolong your pressure to try to get a better weld. You will cause an overload in the machine and then it will be a doorstop. If the weld is not sufficient, increase the power. If you need more than one spot, depress the pedal, release, depress, release... etc. You only want pulses of current.
If you are uncertain about spot welding, consult a book about it....
Porosity can be filled with this machine if it is on a very low setting. With a course adjustment of 1 and a fine adjustment of 1.5, I am able to send small pulses of current into sterling silver with enough power to cause it to flow. The flow will be on a micro level, and it will fill in holes left by casting.
This machine is also helpful to tack weld parts before complex soldering tasks.
Keep in mind that there is no inert gas with this welder. If you have problems with oxidation, get a different model that uses argon as a shield agent.
Overall, this is a good unit. It is a tool, not a miracle worker. If you can't use a torch, don't even think about trying to use this. Master simpler tools, then work your way up. This is a good addition to a jeweler's bench, but it will NEVER replace a torch or the skill needed to wield one .
If you are looking for a small-scale spot welder for jewelry, this is a good place to start! I have no complaints, and this machine will pay for itself in time-saved in the first week!

The people who gave this a bad review obviously do not have experience welding what so ever because if you do have experience welding you dont need an instruction manual to use this welder also the seller is very good at getting back to you with any requests you may have all there responses to me were within 2 business days. The review that said you could not weld anything above 0.3mm is ridiculous I weld 16(swg)/14(awg) which is 1.6mm stainless steel with with this machine without issue. that said 16(swg) is the highest wire size I would recommend welding with this machine as you only get about 1/4 weld penetration on max setting with that size of wire. So you can weld it one if the object is purely ascetic or isnt holding that much weight because even at 1/4 weld pen the chain will be very strong. But you can also make multiple welds around the chain to archive 100% weld pen. I commonly weld 20(awg)/1.0mm and on max setting you will get 100% weld pen with a single weld. This tiny welding machine is fantastic for the price and is great for making jewelry.
I have used this welder for over 2 months and have made thousands of welds with it and have had no issues. That said this is a gas-less pulse welder so I do not recommend using it on precious metals such as silver and gold unless you know the proper ways to remove welding scale and clean those materials because this welder will leave a burn mark and a small amount of scale at the weld site. This is a tool and as with any other tool it can be very helpful or harmful to your project depending on how well you know how to use it. If you have no experience welding at all RESEARCH and learn as much as you can before attempting to weld and PRACTICE on scrap before you attempt to use this on any of you projects.
Also I didn't much care for the grounding tweezers i would suggest replacing them with insulated pliers so you can hold on to you piece easier.
This is a great affordable option for a pulse arc welder. It works perfectly as long as you don't expect it to do things it's not designed for! This will not replace a torch or soldering entirely, but it's a fantastic solution for quick welding jump rings, prongs on settings, earring posts, or other very small pieces that do not need to lay flat while welding. The item you're working on needs to be held vertically up to the electrode in order to weld. If you're looking to attach pieces of metal sheet or larger items you're not going to be able to do that with this device, it's just not meant for that purpose. I've successfully used it on sterling silver, stainless steel, titanium, 14k gold-filled, bronze, niobium, and brass. The included instructions are unreadable and useless, but if you search YouTube for "sparkle welder" you'll find some helpful videos on how to use this type of welder. I also recommend getting a ceramic shield for the electrode which you can pick up at Harbor Freight or similar if you look for ceramic nozzles for sandblasting. This will just sit over the tungsten electrode and allow you to hold your piece up against the ceramic without accidentally touching the electrode itself. Don't forget proper eye/face protection when using this welder!

Operation step
1.Access to the power,turn on the switch.
2.Adjusting the power knob, the general (coarse tune) regulator scale of 1-1.5,( Micro tuning) adjustment scale value 7-8 (can be adjusted arbitrarily as required).
3.clamping the work piece with the tweezers, the work piece interface at tungsten needles ( best distance 0.5mm), the work piece should not contact with the tungsten needle.
