With the exception of the ring gauges, the ring mandrel and the mallet are not very durable or the highest quality. There were sharp edges on the parts of the ring mandrel where there were cut outs for the measurement plate. The material of the mandrel was also aluminum, which doesn't allow for proper sizing of a ring on it along with the cut outs for the measuring plates. These were minor issues that were due to the cheapness of the set which would lead you to believe that they wouldn't be the best in the first place. Outside of those minor issues that can be fixed with proper tool dressing and maintenance, these tools are very good for sizing rings and finding ring sizes. They were all reasonably accurate and were easy to use. I would recommend getting a proper hardened ring mandrel along with this set so that you could properly size rings and measure them.
I completely love it. Some reviews are negative and i dont know what they were working with but this will do fine with my 999. Sizing was dead on and went up to 20 in the rings and the mandrel was small but very accurate. I read complaints about flat sides but ill just turn the ring or use one of my wax mandrels and only use this in finishing or resizing. In resizing there are recesses or flat spots that i can use cutting tools without punching to the mandrel sides.good tool may be confusing for people who dont know how to make rings.
Many times I've wanted to order rings over the net, I just didn't have the tools I needed to size my fingers or have to time to go have them sized. Finally I decided to purchase the Tovot Jewerly kit. Best purchase I've made this year. I have recommend the kit to other family members and friends so they wont have to borrow mine. The kit is very affordable and worth the price.
I'm quite pleased with this ring sizer and rubber mallet for reshaping, I find Myself using them all the time because I'm reshaping all my family members rings too now! Overall a pretty great little tool kit, would recommend it to anyone who tinkers with jewelry.
Great for the hobbyist for accurate ring sizing. I would definitely recommend to others. Exactly what I expected and the hammer was weighted well.
