Description
This kit includes a 4 Kg Propane Metal Melting Foundry Furnace (Light-Duty), a No. 3 - 4 Kg Clay Graphite Foundry Crucible, and a pair of 19" Hinge Style Foundry Crucible Tongs.
The Furnace/Foundry is both efficient and economical, and can melt up to 4 Kg (Brass). This high temperature, fast melting furnace is designed with a powerful DFP burner to heat up to 2642°F (1450°C). It efficiently melts gold, silver, copper, aluminum, brass, bronze, cast iron, and more. No electricity is required. Designed with a heavy-duty steel exterior with refractory cement on the furnace floor and firebrick, and fully lined with 1" of ceramic wool and the cover is lined with 2" to 3" of the ceramic wool. Furnace Body Constructed Of: Steel 16 gauge (1.5 mm) and a lightweight shell. Chamber Dimensions: 6" W x 7.6" H (150 mm x 190 mm). Maximum crucible size is 11 lbs (5 Kg). Outside Dimensions: 8" W x 12" H (200 mm x 300 mm). Weight: 16 lbs (7 Kg). Connection kit includes a Gas pressure regulator, 1 - 90 PSI (0 - 6 bar) gauge with manometer, an 8" gas hose, and 2 clamps.
Crucibles are made from both graphite and clay, and can handle large batches of material. Thick inner walls can handle direct heat and open flame foundries. Use with our propane melting furnaces as well as a standard torch method. Rated to withstand temperatures up to1560°F to 2912°F (850°C to 1600°C). Dimensions: Outer: 5-1/4" Height x 4-3/4" Diameter, Inner: 4-3/4" Depth x 3-3/4" Diameter.
19" Hinge-Style Foundry Crucible Tongs are sturdy carbon black tongs that are ideal for handling crucibles. Tongs will firmly grip onto the lip of the crucible.
