I bought these pliers as an extra pair to keep at my daughter's house for when I am staying there. I make rosaries for a missionary priest in South Africa and I keep supplies at her house (she lives out of state).
While they cut wire as described, they are not as "spring-back ready" as the pair I keep here at home, so it is sometimes awkward to release them after use. They are actually kind of stiff, truth be told.
Hence, FOUR STARS. ****
So far, my favorite cutter for Memory Wire because of the bypass cutting action. It leaves a cleaner cut than a side-cutter that leaves a sharp edge. I haven't used this cutter very much yet, so I have no idea how long it will last, but I am hoping for many, many clean cuts from the tool.
Excellent tool. Tried cutting memory wire with my other tools--no go. These cut the wire perfectly.
Does the job. Easy to use though I would've preferred them to reopen on their own but I bought the less expensive ones.
I bought this after reading the reviews. Some of them talked about using with other wire but decided to go with the Beadsmith purpose which was for memory wire. Have used it several times with good results.

These cutter are amazing, and far stronger than your average tools used for cutting wire. Unfortunately I wasn't paying much attention at the different strengths of the different wires and broke my main pair of cutters :( I got these in addition to a new pair of cutters. I actually use these more than the others. Babmmmmmmm
It cuts perfectly and effortlessly. although I do prefer a point to get in those hard to reach, small places and these are round, it works really well.
