I had to remove a temperature probe outlet in my oven. The back side of the probe outlet has insulation to keep it from heating the walls in my kitchen cabinet, but I had to make a hole in the insulation to get the outlet. I needed a small piece of insulation to fill in where I took out the probe and this small roll of insulation is just what I needed (I cut a small piece off the roll to fill in the hole I made). Its very high temperature rating even works for my self cleaning oven.
I also need something to dampen the vibration of a metal plate in another self cleaning oven that I own, and some small strips of this insulation will work great.

Only smelled hot once. Not pleasant
but expected. Lasted through several
sweeps. Seems to hold the heat much more than before for this old insert. Firewood is one of the safest and cleanest fuels.
This was perfect for my application. A great alternative from having to purchase a bulk amount for a small project.
