I purchased one of these from JoAnne Fabrics on the cheap. I use it to store resistors and other small components.
It is cheap plastic, but the size of the inner compartments is well-suited to this application.
Each inner compartment measures 2"x0.5"x1".
I have several of these storage boxes [like 20 at last count], and I use them for storage of all my tiny glass beads up to about 3mm. They made a nice addition to my bead storage system. The little boxes work pretty well - very well for my clumsy hands. And I can sort and resort them as I add to my collection of Seed and E-Beads for my projects. And yes, I am a little OCD, and these fit into that as well. But realistically, if you have some small items that need separation and storage that fit through the hatch opening, these are ideal. If you have to take the lid off, it still works pretty well. I am a fan of the Darice storage systems. The big problem is getting them intact through the mail systems. Actually, these boxes are on the Prime list of items, so they are mailed by Amazon. Usually there isn't enough padding in Prime shipments and the boxes get broken. It is usually the hinges. I have had good luck fixing them with Judikins Diamond Glaze. Even with that I will definitely be buying more of them.
These are such time and space savers! I now have 22 of these boxes and keep them in a 'short comic book storage box' that I bought here on amazon at this link
Short Comic Book Storage Boxes Supply - Half Box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AT6V4DC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_PhBuBbVEBA6G7
Those boxes can hold more than 22 of these. They allow me to be able to sort my 8/0-15/0's by color and I keep the corresponding elastic band color around them for both insurance(to make sure they don't accidentally open) and for a quick color reference. I also use a brother labeled to label my bugles, hex's, drops etc. It beats the round tubes & plastic bags they come in hands down! It makes life so much easier to be able to know where everything is and I can very quickly narrow down and locate the colors I need. Their transparency makes it even easier to find colors! Though I saw a review that said the person couldn't see clearly enough through them, I don't find that to be the case at all! I'm also not to gentle when handling most things and out of 22 of these for a while now, I've only had one break right above the hinges from a long drop to my tile floor. However, to my surprise, I was able to add a little heavy duty packing tape to both sides of the break, and it still works perfectly- even opening and closing well!
I don't write many reviews, but I felt that these are so great that they warranted it! I've bought many of these here and some elsewhere when I've found a sale. My only gripe is that Amazon no longer(at this time anyways) has these for sale at a bulk discount. When I first started buying them, they had a deal when you bought 3 at a time. I really hope they bring that bulk buy back!!! I assume most bearers will need to purchase more than 3 of them and certainly more than one!!
Ultimately, I highly recommend these cases and will definitely be back for more if/when I need them again. Especially if they bring the 3-for pricing back!
I have a lot of beads in small bags and now I can see them all at one time. I order 2 and have reordered 2 more. I love the individual containers.
I like to make jewelry and it is difficult to keep all the little clasps and beads organized. This bead container works great for me. I now own eight of them. They stay nice and organized with a clear view so you can easily access the items you want. They function similar to a tic tac container with an outer case to keep them in place.
I don’t work with real tiny beads though, so if you do, this may not be the container for you. The lids for the small containers aren’t real secure so you may loose some beads in the crevices. It works well for me though, I like to take the lids off because I don’t like dealing with the little spouts. The quality of the outer plastic container isn’t real great. If you drop it, the plastic will break easily. I ordered four of these and three came shipped with cracks in them. I contacted Amazon and they rushed me three more at no charge and I haven’t had any issues with them in four months.

Description
Keep tiny seed beads and other small items safe, organized and easy to locate with this exceptional bead storage system. Sturdy, Clear box holds 24 small see-through rectangular containers with flip top lids. Beads pour easily through hole in top for convenient access, making tiny bead jewelry projects go a lot smoother. Just pour out what you need and snap the rest away-so they don't scatter out all over the work area. Compact and easy to store or carry to class or Workshop.
I use these cases to store seed beads and petite seed beads by Mill Hill. The top portion of each individual container is removable which helps when pouring in the beads. Once the top is replaced there is a flip lidded spout so you can let out a few beads at a time to work with. These individual containers fit very tightly into the storage case so there is no chance of them opening while the box is moved about. I actually invert half of the individual cases so they fit better. If you tend to drop things, I suggest you place a tie around the main case so there is no way the small containers in side will ever open. I have never had any issues with the individual containers unlike other reviewers, but then again I handle the small flip top containers rather gently and if they do drop, it is on to a couch less than a foot away so they never open. If for any reason a lid has a gap or fits too lose (which has only been like 3 out of 48) I just choose to put some larger beads in it. I love these boxes so much that I will not use anything else and I am back to buy my third. Especially because this case does not waste space, beads do not mix together, no twisting of small lids in place, and it allows me the option of taking one or two bead containers on a trip and leave the rest of the case at home.
I love this set up. They lay on their side so you can put a larger label on them. The lids click shut, no fear of them opening, they seal great. There is another on out there that looks similar, but the containers ore not laying, the are standing up, that one is hard, cannot see labels. This one I have ordered about 4 of them now, I love these.
These little boxes are perfect for storing and labeling tiny beads like Mill Hill beads or diamond painting beads. They are easy to mark with Avery labels, or with a sharpie and seem to be durable enough for using constantly. The container is perfectly sized to make storing and labeling a snap.
Recently they changed the plastic these are made out of; the new stuff is more durable, less brittle, and the caps stay on, so the reviews that cited those problems are no longer valid. I don't know any other kit that packs so much stuff into such a small case. It's a little hard to get the containers out--you need fingernails--but that's a very minor issue.
I am a career jewelry maker, and LOVE this product! Each container is clear (see-through), as well as the main container that stores them. This aspect is the best part, for I am able to see at a glance all contents and find what I need immediately. The lids for the individual containers can easily be pulled out to fill the container quickly, and also has a flip top opening, making it easy to tap out one or a few, as needed. I highly recommend this product, not just for storing beading supplies, but for storing any small items conveniently.
