I don’t have any silver flatware but I got this for my sterling silver jewelry. I have a lot of it. I have polishing cloths but it’s so much work and so time consuming and it doesn’t get in the crevices. The stuff does! I used a cloth and then a soft toothbrush to get in the nooks and crannies of my jewelry and then rinsed them with soap and water and I couldn’t believe how clean they got and how quickly it worked. The first photo is a before and after and it’s not the best example because I had already cleaned almost all of my jewelry before I decided to write this review. That’s because I was so excited! But the other photos show super clean jewelry that was all cleaned using the Hagerty’s.
This is the best ever! Warning... Cleaning with this stuff is addictive. I put 1/2 teaspoon in a wet washcloth and cleaned 3 chain link bracelets, 8 rings, 6 pairs of earrings, 4 necklaces. I just dropped one at a time in the middle of washcloth and rubbed for a few seconds the foam does the work. Not much rubbing necessary. I feel as if I have new necklaces. I had not worn these in years because they are pearl, with intricate silver spacers which I just could not clean. This foam cleaner is the best!!! I have used the spray, the dip and the cloth and this is what i will use from now on.
I posted a question before purchasing this product. I wondered if it would restore my silver....it had become dull and gray, in addition to having some bad tarnish spots. I believe this was a result of running through the dishwasher with stainless. I have now read that a chemical reaction can occur. It also may have been from hard water or dishwasher detergent that was not the right type for silver.
Regardless, I'm happy to report that my dull, gray silverware with black spots now looks shiny and new! I could not be happier! It did not even require much elbow grease. I simply followed the directions and rubbed with a dry cloth.
I was hoping to upload before and after photos, but I was unable to get the amazon website to recognize them from my computer. I am so happy to have discovered this product and so grateful to those that answered my question and encouraged me to give it a try.
I was expecting that this "foam" would be something cool and liquid-y - something you could drop jewelry into and have it come back out tarnish-free. Instead, this polish is a highly viscous semi-solid that requires a touch of elbow grease and work in order to remove tarnish... but it *does* work fairly well and seems to be about as non-harsh as one can hope for these sorts of things.
This polish has no scent or odor and washes out of cloth with nothing more than soap and water. Silver pieces with tarnish are restored to a lustrous shine, except in the case of one necklace I tried to polish to no avail - I can't say for certain, though, whether that particular necklace was actually silver or just silver-plated (or painted, even) and the actual silver had just rubbed off, rather than outright tarnish.
I would definitely recommend this polish - I'm very happy with it and it does the job. I do still wish for a "soaking" polisher, if only because it's not always easy to rub this foam in tight spots, like necklace chains or fine detail work. But it's perfectly fine for most pendants, rings, bracelets, and the like.

I have been looking for a good, gentle, and easy to use silver cleaner. Just tried this cleaner on some delicate hard to clean tarnished silver jewelry with crystals and gemstones. Excellent!!!!!! Easy to use.....got into the crevices and all the tarnish was gone in minutes. Definitely recommend this product and will buy again. This was recommended to me by a retail store.

Description
Silver Foam 8 Oz SILVER FOAM 8 OZ.
Had no idea that my years of endlessly rubbing with the pink stuff in the grubby little jar were over. Apparently it had been too many years since I bought a new jar of silver cleaner and I had a big surprise. This product works and works quickly without stripping the silver. I cut a small piece of an old towel and wet it, then dipped in the jar to get a tiny amount and VOILA the tarnish was gone on my flatware. This jar will last a long time since only a small amount is required.
I had never before bought silver polish for my jewelry and after reading reviews, I took the plunge and bought this. Others looked too harsh, and this seemed like it would be gentle enough to work on anything I owned. It's great! I used it on all of my sterling silver rings, and also my special engraved sterling bracelet. It was gentle enough not to affect the engraving, and everything came out looking new!
I followed the instructions. It is quite messy. I didn't bother with a special silver polish rag, just a new sponge as directed. I used big dabs of it both on the sponge and on the jewelry directly, rubbing it in with the sponge. Then I rinsed the jewelry under warm water (make sure to get all of it off!) and dried it completely. Tah-dah! Gorgeous. Looks new.
Notes about the product-arrives in a plastic bag-I advise keeping this for storage. It is also *very* full, so be careful when opening! This is somewhat of a messy project, so over a sink would be best. The foam itself is a deep red.
Good results and gentle with the silver. What it lacks in abrasion, you make up for in elbow grease. Will not use anything else on my precious silver. It was recommended by a recognized silver expert.
I collect silver plate and sterling. I have been a collector for 15 years and have probably tried every silver cleaning product on the market. I have well over 200 pieces and so feel I know what works and what does not.
This product is the best of the best.
Also the Hagerty Silversmiths Wash with R27 Tarnish Protection is excellent.
The difference between the 2 produts:
The silver Foam cleaner cleans very tarnished peices the most efficently.
The Silversmiths Wash is for people who are careful enough to clean their
pieces just as they are beginning to show the slighest tarnish. And the R27
tarnish protection works really well, if I am careful to catch my pieces
just as they are beginning to tarnish 2 things happen using the Wash first
the wash takes off less silver on the plated items (fabulous news!) second
I have noted the tarnish is warded off for about 35% more time length. This
makes for an ideal situation for plated pieces.
So for really dirty peices Hagerty Silver Foam --- for maintainence Hagerty silversmith' Wash with Tarnish Protection.
I really like this product. One does not need the "elbow grease" to get a beautiful finish. Yes, it's ugly in the jar (but who cares?!) and it's a tad expensive (but it's worth the price to me). Highly recommend.
