This is a solid 4.5 starts easy. Arrived a day early and undamaged. While I would have prefered a 50 or 60w machine, present situation had me settle for a smaller, cheaper K40. Set up directions a little sketchy, obviously used Google translate so its like a badly dubbed movie but not too hard to follow. Ive totally skipped their included software and went straight to Inkscape and K40 Whisperer. Having owned a CNC for the past 5 years made this pretty easy to get going, if you dont really have any experience you will have steeper learning curve. Pictured is an ornament from my CNC from last year that I carved out of 1/4 maple, just adjusted the date and mirrored the graphics and text and rastered/etched/cut from the back side making necessary changes in Inkscape after importing from V-Carve Pro. I made this just a day after setting up my K40. Mirrors where a little off, theres plenty of links and YouTube videos to get them spot on which I had to do. Overall a good investment for less than $400 and glad I decided to pull the trigger
Got this for processing lab-scale samples. Got a five gallon bucket with distilled water for the cooling fluid pump, installed the software, connected it to the PC, plugged everything in, and I was ready to go in 30 minutes. It works as advertised - a nice little laser engraver that every engineer I show it to wants for themselves. A good and inexpensive tool that works basically like an old dot matrix printer except it shines laser light.
A few caveats - this is a bit unsophisticated in its controls and software. While you can import most popular types of image files into the driver app, the laser works only with the app, which was written by someone who clearly understands Chinese better than English. There is no laser power setting except for a current switch. While there is a current meter the potentiometer used to adjust it lacks demarcations on the panel so you don't know exactly where you're setting it. And the user guide is lacking in detail.
Think of it like driving an old manual transmission car - a bit crude but if you know what you're doing you'll have a lot of fun.
It is a bit confusing to set it up. However it works amazing. This is the man. I'm serious. You don't have to pay thousands of dollars for a laser machine. This is your guy.
I have seen it in YouTube and decided to have a try. I didn't expect to be successful for the first time! I use it everyday. Work perfect and wonderful machine! I love it!
It's amazing what you get. Works right out of the box.

Getting everything started was a challenge, but with me reaching out for assistance Suncoo was very assertive in getting me the information I needed to get an engraver working. I appreciate the patience and attentiveness to my issues and assistance concerning a hiccup on Amazon’s behalf. Thank you for being at least willing enough to help with returning an extra engraver with all paid return shipping. Awesome!!!! I’m sure I’ll be back to get another once things pick back up. God bless.
This laser is one of the best purchases I have ever made! There is a little work that you have to put into this machine to make it a little more user friendly but I absolutely love it! Just be patient with it and be cautious and safe and the machine will treat you well! I hope you all enjoy!
Set up was straight forward. No surprises. Using inkscape and k40 whisperer, there is a learning curve, but lots of helpful videos. Do your research, know what you're getting and you won't be disappointed. It is a tool, like any tool, results will be dependant on the user. If you have no experiece, knowledge, or skill, don't blame the tool. Everything works properly. This is a cheap laser, but it does the job. There are upgrades and modifications you'll want to make, especially for cutting, you'll need an air assist.
Over all I love it.
Works well right out of the box. There were a few broken screws (holding the window in place), but otherwise the laser worked straight away.
I did not use the packaged software, rather I opted to use Inkscape and K40 Whisperer.
I've been looking at laser engraver for awhile now and, this seems to be what I'm looking for. A friend of mine bought one and after a small learning curve, he is banging out custom engraving. It started as a hobby to customize a few pieces we had and now he is making crazy money. With a fixed income it'll probably be a little time before I can order mine. Nice machine works great and a great price.
