Needed a metal etcher that was compact. The templates only work on a large flat surface, but since that is not what I am marking, they are like the prize in a box of Cracker Jacks. Most of what I do is letter/number wise about 1/8" and smaller... mostly on round/cylindrical parts. The tool itself works well for a vibrating type, for small jobs.... using it for long will put your fingers to sleep....
Idoe professional wood turning and use the engraver to sign my work. I have used it on 5 items so far and am very satisfied so far.
I was leary when I purchased this, I didn't know if it would be powerful and accurate. However I'm very pleased with it. It is very powerful, very accurate when inscribing. The tip doesn't wander and the unit doesn't vibrate such that you can't make a straight line. You can make exactly what you want to make down to fine details. It's a great unit.
