This little kiln works great. Take into account, it is pretty small. Don't expect to be able to make huge automotive parts with this. The crucible is large enough for 1kg of gold. Personally, I have used it for aluminum and it works great. Takes about 10 minutes to fully melt about a 1/2lb slug of raw aluminum. That's a ballpark number.. I wasn't fully paying attention to the melt time. The manual is barely understandable. But... it's a kiln. You turn it on, set a temp and that's about it. Nothing else to really know.
I bought this to melt silver in place of an acetylene torch. When removed from the furnace, the silver stays hotter longer. Makes it easier to pour into the mold. So far it has worked great.
Have worked with silver and cooper i got a graphite rod to clean the bottom of the crucible
So far this product works as advertised. I will continue to update this review throughout it's lifespan.
