I was in the process of converting an electric smoker to a powder coating oven and needed to be able to get the temperature of the oven up about 100 degrees. I decided to take apart the inner shell of the oven and noticed that there was no insulation...just an air gap. I went on the search for high temp insulation and came across this product. It was perfect for my application...easy to work with. On top of that, it got my oven up to the temps I needed it to be. Great product!
This stuff is amazing, built a mini forge and it works great.
It's good! Quite a bit of kaowool for a decent price. I used it in a simple trashcan metal foundry and while it is thinner than other products, there was more than enough to line everything twice over. That was more than efficient to get the job done!
Haven't measure it to see how accurate the length is, but hasn't caught on fire yet.
Great for a backyard forge and foundry. Excellent insulator. Wear a mask and cover your skin when handling.

Great for lining kiln shelves, building custom kiln insulation layers, and glass slumping in molds. Just what you need to create an amazing outdoor cooking space, service a wood stove, or refurbish a furnace. 8# density blanket is ideal for insulating applications where there is compression or tension on the material. This density can handle flame contact. Lower density (6#) may be used for pure insulation needs on a shelf or between two plates. This material will withstand up to 2100F continuously and resist melting up to a peak temperature of 2300F (1260C). Application of Colloidal Silica will provide greater rigidity and higher flame resistance when necessary.
Blocks heat, don't breathe in while cutting it.
