This set of mandrels is great! I was just going to use them for light guage wire because they are plastic, but with dead soft they work well with even the 14 AWG bare copper.
I'm not able to use the interchangeable handle for holding the mandrels, it feels awkward, maybe because my hands are small. But, I have used the handle as a mandrel a few times.
Durable plastic. Holds up to tugging to tighten. Delightfully surprised and use them all often.
I wouldn't use to hammer but I have used a soft mallet a couple of times with the 14g.
This item is a godsend to me and my wire working.
The price was much lower than local retail. The quality if the materials make it very sturdy and easy to use.
The different mandrill shapes each allows you to make the needed shapes and bends, all in different size gradients.
The removable handle switches easily from mandrill to mandrill, giving you a good grip base for your tools.
I would definitely recommend this product due to its ease of use and helpfulness in working your wire.
I wasn't sure about buying a plastic mandrel, but this one is really good. I like the square base; it prevents it from rolling off the table and gives you somewhere to put your thumb. Very good price. It also encouraged me to make shapes and designs that I'd not thought of, previously.
This is a valuable tool for a novice wire wrapper like me (and for more skilled ones too). It arrived in good condition, with a handle that fits four different shaped plastic mandrels. Great!
Much larger then expected, but that's not a bad thing. The plastic seems very sturdy - I will definitely be using these a lot and am really glad I finally bought these.

This helped so much in shaping the long wire projects and the heavier weight wires.
This is a neat little tool to have...but as many times before I was surprised at the size when I got them...they are much larger than they 'seem' online...which is fine of course...and they are plastic so you are not going to be using this on anything heavy duty...just soft crafting wire, copper wire, or soft silver. Tip: I used a sharpie marker and numbered down each step because I kept forgetting which step I used when I had to make another loop or triangle lol...so a number is easier to remember and easier is you keep notes of your designs and want replicate your design exactly in the future. I like it.
Works great on 14 - 20 gauge wire with great results
For the money, these do the job. If you just want to make a few different shaped links, these mandrels work. They are not the greatest quality, but they are not expensive. I'm happy with the purchase for the $5 I paid.
I love all the different size and shape options on these mandrel. The parts are interchangeable and easy to use.
