Fine optics are not foreign to me having a pair of Swarovski EL 8.5 x 40 binoculars. If you know about them then you know how particular I am with optics. When I viewed though this beautifully made BelOMO Triplet all I could say is WOW! It is an incredible optic! No compromises have been made. It's three elements are fully multi-coated and held in a professionally made metal frame. The leather case is also beautifully made, most likely by hand and very high quality, thick, top grain leather. The case is a MUST HAVE if you want to protect this instrument. I was so impressed by this Triplet that I wrote a letter with much praise to BelOMO in Belarus, Russia. Buy it with the leather case, treat the case with "Leather Honey" sold by Amazon and you'll be good to go for a lifetime of viewing enjoyment. You will be very pleased!!!
I bought this 10x loupe for home watch repair. It seems robust and a quality lens. It is perfect for reading very small print on very small button batteries such as size 364 and 377 (either will fill the entire width of the magnified viewing field). Also good for inspecting suspect parts and to check for damage or alignment of parts. The image is very sharp across the lens considering the low price on this loupe. I got it with the leather case which is plenty big enough and thick enough to protect it very well. I have a desk top magnifier with light for doing detail work but this loupe is handy to just pull out and use wherever I am inspecting or working on a watch.
When the package arrived, it said "Amateur Geologist" on the outside. I love it. That's how I'm beginning to feel. With 21 varieties of Oak trees in Southern California, I have set myself and this gadget to task. It was recommended by my teacher, Tellur at Blue Wind School of Botanical Studies to buy the 10 power. I got the little lanyard and a leather case for safe keeping. I'll take it camping because I have already successfully removed a splinter from my finger with it! Wish I'd had it last year in Cabo removing Sea Urchin from four friend's limbs while I never got stuck at all. Feeling lucky on all counts. Highly recommend this one.
This allows for a good viewing area and the 10x is about right. There is no lighting facility but that is not a show stopper.
The metal casing is finished in a black cracknell finish. Its a matt finish and highly durable. Well made product from
Belarus. The leather case is top quality but will not take the lens and the lanyard. The lanyard has an in line joint which is too big.
Better to order the lens and case on their own and get a thinner "passholder" style lanyard from somewhere else then all 3 work together.
This is my second Belomo 10X triplet. The first was purloined by a colleague and I decided to let him keep it. These are great loupes.

Don’t waist your money on the case. Good quality, but poor fit. The magnifier is nice, and appears to be good quality.
Good clarity and propper magnification. This is based on inside tests of old coins. I bought it to use in the field. That will have to wait untill spring and the loss of snow and frost.
excellent optical quality, easy on the eye and the slide out mechanism feels nice and tight. The quality leather case is a great touch and is useful for storing it.
I use to see the finer details of coins.
A very compact but excellent tool. I use it for coin collecting and examining silver mint marks. The leather case protects the lenses and it fits easily into a pocket when you go to markets.
