Great tool to have for detecting diamonds.
I ordered two pairs of fairly expensive diamond earrings from Amazon, and I was really worried they would not be real. I used this device to test them and a several other confirmed diamonds I own. I also tested costume clear stones and semi precious (white topaz) stones.The diamonds came up correct every time. I am very pleased with the purchase. The device is simple to use. Directions take maybe 30 seconds to read and understand. I have no idea why other reviewers are having trouble with the directions.
It works well and is a decent quality for the price. I have found it really useful good to have a round. Easy enough to use and understand. No real problems. The jewelry loop that comes with it feels like cheep plastic but that works great too so can’t complain, especially for the decent price.
So far I have ordered three for different people as well. If used correctly the product does discern diamonds from CZ. The numbered scale is Mohs but only goes up to 8, with an arrow indicating 9 and above. Diamond is 10.
