I've had a set of beads for a mala that have been sitting, less than half knotted, for ten years because I could not tie a tight, close knot to save my life. When I saw this new "gimmick" I thought why not? My beads are now done! It took me just over an hour to finish knotting he remaining 70 beads on the strand. They're strung on two strands of waxed cord and they look so good. I couldn't be more pleased. I will definitely be using this again.
I've used this for a lot of pieces- there's a fairly steep learning curve to get the knots close to the bead. Definitely watch some videos for ideas and help. In retrospect I'd probably get it again as it's small and when you get the hang of it, you can fire off a pretty sweet strand of beads in short order. Just be prepared to want to throw it against the wall the first few times you use it- but don't give up!

I have problems with my hands yet still took on a task of making a pearl necklace for my niece. I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to do it. Out of desperation I ordered the " knot-a-bead". I love it! Easy to use and constant knots every time. I was saved.
If there was any thing negative about this product is it's so light weight that if it had some kind of suction device on it it would be even better.
This is a great help for beginners and experienced users alike. It makes knotting beads very easy.It came with clear instructions on how to use it and you can find videos online showing how it works. It is a great addition to my jewelry making supplies. It did take a few tries to get the hang of it but once I did it was a breeze. I love this tool. It took a few tries to get the hang of it, Really small cording was harder to snug up to the bead consistently, but still works like a charm.
It's a decent knotter, it makes knotting very easy. However I have noticed with smaller beads the knotts do not turn out well and the beads are unevenly spaced. I would recommend it for beads and pearls larger than 7mm. Anything smaller you may want to try other handheld knotting tools out their.
It was so easy to add knots between pearls. For years I had been triying to put knots manually but each time had to give up after putting a couple of them in. In the end I had to take them to a professional to do it. I can do it now professionally .
