Hammer works great and really makes a difference when stamping. I was a little discouraged that my stamps weren't coming out clear but they do with this hammer. The head of the hammer does get dented/flaky from the very first use but doesn't seem to be a problem yet.
This hammer fits my smaller hand well, and has a good heft to use with my stamping punches. Its smaller but weighty size enables me to get a clearer image when I use it as I have more control over it.
I did my research and this is the best of the best in stamping hammers. The brass head, being one pound in weight, and having the short ergonomic handle are what makes this hammer amazing. I have had no problems with using the hammer and my daughter even likes to use it. The VALUE of this item is wonderful, I have seen it in my local craft stores for 40$!
I've used this for quite some time now. Really planned on using it for stamping. Guess what? I've used it for everything I've needed to hammer 'especially for my disk cutter. I'm sure that because of the center of gravity it's really heavier than 1 pound.
I have been using this hammer since it arrived. I really like the weight, and the length of the handle makes it easy to use for metal punched jewelry.

ImpressArt's metal stamping hammer is the first hammer ever to be designed specifically for metal stamping. Its scaled down ergonomic handle makes the hammer easy to handle and ensures force and accuracy. The 1 pound brass head is designed to prevent double impressions and protects your metal stamps so they'll last longer.
This is awesome. Light weight and very comfortable to hold. Easy on my hands and wrist for stamping.
I really like this little hammer. It's compact and easy to handle. Yes, as others have said, it does develop dents in the head but I would imagine that happens because it's a softer metal than the stamps I'm hitting. Dents and all, it works just fine.
cant wait to start using this thanks
Hammer fits comfortably in my hand. Weight of the head feels just right for my use. I do intend to practice more before trying it on a 'real' project. I am very happy with this purchase.
As good as expected - Great size for me and for its intended use. What else can you say about a hammer???
