Like so many other reviews I read, I too received a "corrupted" thumb drive with the drivers and software. I reached out to the seller by e-mail first. Seller responded quickly and first provided software for an MP3 player by mistake, but soon re-sent an e-mail with the correct files for the laser engraver.
After installing the files and connecting the device I was pleased to be able to easily import clip art for engraving. I made a few Christmas ornaments by engraving simple designs on wood slices. (photos attached)
A couple of caveats: Be patient. Although there seems to be a bad batch of thumb drives, the seller will make good on the software quickly when you contact them. Also, take the time necessary to properly adjust the device before pressing "Start." Focus the laser "dot" and adjust power and depth settings. Be gentle! The connectors for power and USB are part of the circuit board and are not "reinforced." Line up the connectors and gently push them into the receptacles just until they bottom out. They may not look fully inserted, but if you see a blue dot the device has power, and if it connects to your computer you have a USB connection. Don't force the connectors in. They could break off of the circuit board. Also, be sure the cords are situated so they won't get in the way and be accidentally pulled or yanked. That could damage the connections and if the device moves during engraving your project is toast.
For a small, inexpensive engraver this one does the job nicely as long as you are willing to learn its capabilities and limitations pretty much on your own. Instructions are adequate to get going, but are not detailed. Engraving speed is highly dependent on the complexity of your design, how large you need it to be, and how deep you want to engrave.
The designs in the photos are simple line drawings and took about 30 minutes each to engrave on the wood slices with the following settings: Power = 75 Depth = 105. The device is not powerful enough to engrave glass, stone, or metal. However, you can paint a "mask" on these materials with nail polish, engrave, then apply an etching medium and lastly remove the nail polish to reveal your "engraving."
I'm still learning some of the "tricks" to get the most out of this little engraver, but overall I'm pleased with it, For less than $200 bucks it is quite a gem.
By the way, I'm running it on Mac OS Mojave, Have no idea how it behaves on Windows, but it's a breeze on my MacBook Pro.
Great small entry level laser engraver! This one was easy to set up and to connect to my laptop. It does allow me to drag and drop images right into the software which is super easy.
Overall this is a good beginner laser engraver. It has a small engraving size but that perfect for most entry level testing. It is almost a pure plug n play laser that is also easy to focus. The software does its job and any photo editing needs to be done before dragging and dropping into the laser software.
Very cool for small projects
This is my first time using this machine. My friend introduced me to buy this compact and lightweight one.
So happy to use it. This little machine works well on the cases as well as on gift tags. The operation is very simple. Use the picture software to make the pattern to be engraved. It can be directly carved onto the wood slices or onto the phone. The finished product is very clear and beautiful.
Does what is says on the tin, an easy to set up laser engraving machine, some of the instructions are less than clear, but if you can make it past the broken English you shouldn't be dissapointed.
The product itself is awesome. The laser engraving is sharp and clear. I did struggle with getting the thing hooked up to the computer and had many trial and error invite my neighbor over to help set it up moments. There are absolutely no instructions. You'll get a flash drive, the engraver, and a 2 page booklet that tells you little more than how to plug it in. Difficult for someone who isn't computer savvy.

I like this mini engraver as it is easy to install, program is very user friendly to work and understand. The quality of the product and the output is excellent.
Light weight and you can set it up anywhere without problems. Well worth the money.
I just love to play wit the machine.
I bought this as a Christmas present for my dad. He does a lot of woodworking and I thought this would help him inscribe his name on the bottom of his pieces because it takes him so long to burn it in by hand. He absolutely loved it. The program is very simplistic, but it makes it very easy to run. Within 10 minutes we had the machine running and we’re burning all different pieces of scrap wood is practice. He used it all day long experimenting with different images and settings. With in one day and he has found so many uses for this machine.
This machine works very well. Software is easy to use, and I was able to engrave several items very quickly.
Approximately 1” diameter image takes about 10 minutes to engrave. Max size image took over an hour. Very happy with the product so far.
I received the product as described. Works well for what it is and the price. Hopefully they make a larger/More powerful model than the 3000mw unit, and update the software with some more features (Like live picture preview), and i would buy that unit as well.
I'm really excited to be using this for my small business! My Amazon/eBay sales will greatly benefit from having this new capability to produce some cool stuff! Worked right out of the box, no issues getting the software loaded and it worked without touching a setting! Now to dial it in and make it perfect!
