I have been fortunate enough to come across real diamonds, but without this machine it was a hit & miss...usually if 14KT or 925 is on the jewelry, it more than likely is for real or of some value....I bought a ziplock bag full of loose jewelry....I found some diamonds...not big ones, but you can see this with the naked eye....thanks for this device which I now carry with me everywhere.....
Got this after my wife went to our local jeweler to find out if a found item contained a genuine diamond. It didn't but he was using one of these devices for his initial check. She described it and I found it on Amazon.
I noticed the unit works a little faster on larger stones than tiny ones or those surrounded by a lot of metal, but it seems to be accurate based on our limited testing.
Instructions could be a LOT clearer, hence the one-star deduction.
It's a bit touchy depending on weather conditions or other situations such as when using a fan or Air Conditioner, it tends to effect the Diamond Tester's reading just a bit. Otherwise, this is an exceptionally-made & well-designed Diamond Tester that I recommend and found overall easy to use & operate. Very handy for the Precious Gems Collectors out there, I have successfully identified Diamonds already with mine, so it does really work & does what it claims to. Great for beginners in Collecting, I felt it was a good value for the money as well.
I only used it once so far but it seemed to work ok...I tried it on a few different stones... a couple I didn't know if they were real or not and on a real one...it worked ok...

Perfect & cheap. Quality is as expected for y the price but works great.
Easy to use. However I thought when I ordered it the description said it works on other gems. When I recurved it, it doesn’t list other gems to test
