These pliers are very pointy and quite sturdy. I can apply a lot of pressure to a bit of brass right at the tip, and it immediately deforms into a thin disk -- it was that sort of crimping/flattening outcome that I was hoping for. I've been working a lot with very tiny metal pieces, and these pliers have immediately become my favorite and most useful tool. I can easily work with a light touch to grab and manipulate/bend small parts with ease, and yet these can also dole out a serious pinch for malleable metal when necessary.
I (Cali) am an artisan that makes both chainmaille jewelry and other awesome things. These pliers have become my new favorites! I have large hands, but they still fit comfortably enough that I can use them for extended lengths of time. They're especially great for tiny jump rings!
These are my 3rd set of Xurons! The chisel tip is fabulous for tight spaces, and the others I've had are wonderful. They're comfortable to grip, and one never had a single problem from them. I am told they're only for 18g, or smaller; they can handle 16g, but you run the risk of breaking them. If you wish to begin chainmaille, these are a great tool to have.
I really really enjoy these pliers and I am sorry I waited to order them. I especially like them on the smaller rings. right now I use them with the xuron 90 degree bent nose pliers but I am seriously considering getting a second pair of these.

Description
Flat, smooth blades with tips ground to a 45 Deg angle. The angle provides extra gripping surface on a jump ring while eliminating any interference with the open working space of the ring.
