3" Steel with Nylon Base 2-in-1 Bench Block Anvil Tool Set Surface for Metal Forming Stamping Jewelry Repair

3

I am in love with my new bench blocks. I must say, I bought this because it was a 2 in 1 product, but I don't recommend using the rubber base with the steel block. The rubber absorbs the blow from the hammer and doesn't work right. I use a leather sandbag underneath the steel block. It absorbs some of the noise, protects the surface and holds the steel block in place.

This has been a great addition to my jewelry making bench. It doesn't take up a lot of room. I use the nylon side when turning a piece over to work on back, as in to reshape a piece. It won't scratch the front of my piece.

I like it I use it for punching dies on paper

Works just as it should for home jewelry making. A quality item that I hope will last some time.

Rubber base absorbs the hammering and quiets the hits, the nylon base is great for gardening wire with out changing the shape.

  • Surfaces are easily removed or installed/placed onto the hard rubber base
  • Base provides a non-slip work surface

Description

This 3-in-1 double anvil features one nylon surface, one hardened steel plate, and a rubber base that can house either of the other 2 blocks. Easily install to the hard rubber, non-slip base that will secure your positioning while absorbing both light to heavy hammer action. Plates measures approximately 3/4"; diameter of anvil as a whole measures approximately 3".

The steel bench block is made of high quality tool steel. It is a versatile bench block, and can be used for forming, riveting, work-hardening wire, planishing flat elements, stamping, and more. The nylon bench block can be used for more delicate purposes like straightening wire and sheet, flattening wire, or working with PMC. It will hold up to hammer strikes, but it will not mark or scratch your metal. The rubber base absorbs the vibration from hammer strikes and makes hammering more efficient as well as quieter. Steel and nylon blocks measure 3" (7.6 cm) in diameter and 0.75" (1.9 cm) thick. Rubber block measures 4" (10 cm) in diameter and 1.25" (3.2 cm) thick and securely houses either block. Weighs approximately 2 lbs and 2 oz (963 grams).
