Babyville Boutique 35039 Snap Pliers

Babyville Boutique 35039 Snap Pliers

I bought these snaps at the local craft store and then realized I didn't have the pliers to apply. I came home and read the reviews that made me regret the purchase. Unfortulately, I didn't have time to return to store etc, so I ordered the pliers on amazon. Ordered with prime and Saturday shipping, came on time and well packaged. First few snaps and I almost ruined my project:-(, I then started youtubing instructions as project had to be done tonight. Found one very informative video from the KAM company showing the difference between shanks. Stated on the instructions shipped in packaging says already preloaded with the shank and die for size 20. Well when watching youtube video they showed how to pull off clear rubber and check shank size and lo and behold the larger shank was inappropriately loaded. Die size was 20 as stated in paper work but not the shank. Changed shank and immediately applied 5 snaps with no problems. 4 stars because product works well, but crappy instructions!!!!
I very rarely write reviews, but thought this one might help someone out there.

I have been using these with both the Babyville snaps and some other size 20 white plastic KAM snaps I found here on Amazon. They work very well. I looked at several different types of pliers and brands for attaching KAM snaps and these had mostly good reviews and looked easy to handle. I wanted them mostly for attaching the plastic snaps to baby bibs and these have worked out great for me. I had never used these kinds of snaps or plusers before purchasing these and found them easy enough to figure out. There’s videos on YouTube for these exact pliers if you’re nervous about figuring them out too. Overall I am happy with the purchase and they’ve worked great on baby bibs so far. I am attaching a photo of the pliers and the two types of snaps that I have used with them, as well as a couple of the bibs that I have attached them to, and close-up of the Babyville snaps. The pliers did come with the other pieces mentioned and pictured on Amazon, I just didn’t photograph them.

After using these pliers I will never go back to metal snaps again! I was sick of throwing out half the snaps I bought because they didn't install correctly- even with special tools that were supposed to make it easier. I was working on a project that required a lot of snaps and decided to break down and buy these. Now I'm wishing I'd purchased them sooner! I applied 20 snaps in minutes, with not a single snap broken or misaligned! Just make sure you squeeze as hard as possible or the snap won't, well, snap when it clamps. Easy peazy! Worked with the regular size 20 Dritz plastic snaps I purchased at Wal-Mart. As long as it's the right size, it doesn't matter what brand you purchase. Happy snapping!

I bought this product for my wife, who does a lot of sewing and emboidery. From the start she was having trouble using the tool and the snaps and so she called the seller for guidance. The seller, a terrific lady, spent quite a bit of time with her, explaining how to use the tool effectively and, at the end of their conversation, she said she would send my wife a "gift." The gift turned out to be a new tool and bag of snaps, sent just to be sure the first tool was not defective. My wife was, of course, elated with the personal attention and the concern of the seller that she was completely satisfied. Me? I can only say, "Kudos to Dritz Babyville Boutique! My wife is happy and, thus, I'm happy! She is now, as I write this, in her sewing room, happily using her Babyville Boutique Snap Pliers. She loves them!

This was super easy to use. I bought my 6 month old several onesies with only two snaps where there needed to be three to keep the material from gaping. Instead of sending them back, I decided I would try and add the missing snap myself. I am not a crafty person by any means, so this was out of character. But after reading a few reviews, I thought this looked simple enough to use, and I was right! It came with all of the tools I needed and worked perfectly. Cheap and easy fix for my problem!

This is a very easy to use setter for plastic snaps. It has several different parts for three different sizes of snaps. It was extremely easy to use and my project turned out great. I should have bought this years ago.

Worked as expected and removed broken snap with ease.

A really excellent tool. I have always struggled with putting in snaps. Either my hole was too big, they were crooked, or who knows what else. I really love this tool. It comes with changeable dyes for the different size snaps that Babyville makes. The awl (hole poker thing) is terrific. It makes the perfect sized hole for getting in the first piece of the snap. I really recommend applying a good bit of pressure. When I was only kind of applying pressure, the snaps didn't go together well and didn't work. When I re-applied the pressure, they work really well. Highly recommend this system. All of the snaps so far are really cute too.

I just got mine, and immediately opened it up and used it. I installed three snaps so far, no problem. I didn't have a problem lining up the snaps, like some people said. Maybe they changed the design, or maybe people were confused by the directions. I watched an instructional video, and that was VERY helpful. I didn't give it five stars only because you can tell it's not the highest quality. But for twelve bucks, and the number of snaps I intend to install (not many... although I have the pliers and a thirty pack so look out! Snaps are about to go on everything!) not a bad deal.

I bought these pliers to use with the corresponding Babyville snaps because it was a cheaper alternative to kam - especially since this isn't a project I'll be doing often. They did their job and were super easy to use. Yes, it takes a good squeeze of pressure to get the plastic in the correct shape so they "snap", but would you really trust the snaps to stay in place if you didn't have to apply much pressure? The package came with everything needed to get going (aside from the actual snaps) and they can accommodate a few different snap sizes. The default press was a size 20, which was the same size as the Babyville snaps I bought so I didn't even have to change anything out (but it does look easy to do).

The only issue I ran into was the need to re-shape the snaps with the pliers after running my garments through the dryer (which is no fault of the pliers). Everything was tested & snapped after applying, but I wasn't able to snap about half of the snaps after washing/drying for the first time. Applying the pliers once more with a good amount of pressure molded the plastic snap back into shape and haven't had an issue since. These are definitely a good purchase as they are easy to use and get the job done without breaking the bank.
