We used these to make boutonnieres for our wedding by attaching them with E6000 to brass rifle shells. It held up well!
I used these to make badges for a safety fair. I "glued" them on with a plastic epoxy (can get at any craft store).
Pros:
Size - they easily supported 2 x 3 inch badges - I would not hesitate to try them on 4 x 4 inch badges

I was so happy to learn that if your old pin, on the back of your brooch, becomes damaged from wear - you can replace the pin! This new pin is very strong and very well made and now my brooch can be passed down to others in my family. And, I fixed it myself.
Good item for DIY hat project. They worked just fine. Would purchase again if I needed more.

I love these pins. I had to use hot glue to make sure that they stay on, but I'm giving them a 4 star because I wish that they were a little bigger. But they are perfect for my boutonnieres and corsages.
