When they say "slim", they mean it -- this pair of round nose pliers are very fine-tipped. And of course, this is just what I was hoping for! Being a jewelry designer, I have lots and lots of pliers, some better than others. While these were quite inexpensive, they don't feel that way - they are of nice quality.
This pair of pliers is great when I need to work with finer gauge wire, and the design is delicate. I think the best weights of wire to use with these pliers are from 20 to 30 gauge (I don't work with anything smaller) in any metals but stainless steel or titanium. And actually, you probably could use these with very fine-gauge steel/titanium. And although you could use 18 gauge copper/silver wire with these, you wouldn't want to use the very tips of these pliers for that purpose -- they are built well, but not that strong!
I don't use these everyday, but when I do need them for my 20 to 30 gauge wire, they work very well.
...because I've never had a full-size pair of round-nose pliers, let alone a long one. Like the Beadalon bent-nose pliers I bought at the same time, they feel great and have changed the way I think about the tool. I'd been getting by with a miniature pair with tiny jaws and a broken spring. I didn't know round-nose pliers could be so easy to use. The slim handles fit well in my hand and provide excellent control.

These are well-made round nosed pliers. The slim design makes setting loops for earrings very easy. The longer, rounded handles give me just the leverage needed. Soooo glad I bought Beadalon!
Slim design! Handles are slim, but, have a nice textured rubber grip. I also have the Regular Beadalon Round Nose Pliers, but, the Slim Beadalon Pliers have a longer handle that actually fits my hand better. xoxo
I needed this tool to help me bend paperclips. It works perfectly. I am very satisfied with this tool.
