I purchased these for an office project to punch through laminated paper, which they did well, and attach 5/32" nickel eyelets (I have yet to try the 1/4"). These work okay, but you kinda have to precariously balance the eyelets on the tool heads, so they don't sit very securely, which can sometimes make it hard to get them perfectly even. This tool comes with a lot of little accessories, which is great because it increases versatility, but a little plastic container or something to keep them in would've been a nice touch.
I'm not a fake profile, nor have I been compensated for any reviews...in fact, the reason I take the time to review purchases when I can is due to the fact that I find other honest reviews helpful and am tired of all the fake reviews that have polluted this site. If you find my review helpful, please take the time to rate it as such, not because I'll get anything out of it but so that others can see true reviews. Thanks and Happy Shopping!
It requires good aim and a very steady hand in order to put them on straight, but it does indeed work. Sure, it's a real pain, but for the price, what do you expect? It works and that's good enough for me.
I found it helped to take the grommet piece and bend the grooved edge (the edge that will fold back on itself to create the seal) just a little outwards. I took a sturdy metal pen and kind of rolled in inside to outside to work the edge back. This way the edge is already heading in the direction you want it before you start hammering.
If your looking for a sturdy tool to punch holes in fabric and set eyelets\grommets look no further. This tool is pretty easy to use even if you have arthritic problems. overall this tool is worth the investment and I would highly recommend reading the directions before you use this product to help you use these pliers accurately .Overall this tool is worth the investment , some fabrics you may need to punch harder to get a clean 360 punch otherwise you'll have a hanging chad. The grey tool makes removing the inserts stress free.
This is the best and only one that actually works. It is sturdy nd well made. The only issue Is: the numerous pieces for making holes or crimping the eyelets/grommets ..a few look alike so it’s hard to tell if you are using the correct tools.
Post and anvil is included, Anvil is extremely small and not visible in picture but it is there. I do wish it were bigger.
If you have arthritis or hand mobility issues this isn't for you due the size of post and anvil.
Eyelets are a decent quality but not great. If you are making a garment or something that you will tug repeatedly on the eyelets I would suggest a little better quality but for pure decoration purposes this is ideal and a perfect price.

I love this tool! I use it for eyelets and even just punching little holes to run cording through. It puches a nice hole in the fabric before you put the eyelet in. It applies the eyelet consistently with a good squeeze.
I'm making costumes for the Ren Fair and the girls have to have their underbusts with the lacings in front, or back, etc. These work great. My first order I ordered the 1/4" eyelet. while they work, they just look too big. These are just right. This package doesn't come with the tools for inserting....I've already got that. But you need it in order to set them properly. so make sure you order that or have one on hand.
Nice beginner's set of eyelets. The instructions say to simply cut out a circle using scissors, but I recommend using an awl with a large enough diameter so you get an actual circle instead of a ragged square. You also have to be pretty precise with the hole since the rim that the eyelet uses to catch onto the fabric is very thin
instructions are super clear!! overall incredible and SO easy to use. my green bit did get stuck a few times, but other than that totally lifesaving.
I haven't had any issues with this set. The pliers work fine and the eyelets work fine also. One thing I didn't know before ordering them is the pliers punch through your fabric and THEN put the eyelet on, which is handy so you don't have to cut a hole that may be too big. The only thing I don't like is that the small-size eyelets come out of the fabric relatively easily since they're not double-sided. Otherwise, I'm happy to have this in my craft box. It's certainly easier to use than a set with an anvil and hammer.
