It does what it says its suppose to do, but doesnt hold up to water as much
Bought my Mom a watch I knew she would like for Mothers Day, but after reading some reviews, I learned that its 18k gold plating was thin and not so durable. So, I decided to buy this jewelry coating for added protection. By the look and smell of it, it seems to be an epoxy resin, which should be durable and long-lasting.
The coating has a good consistency. Not to thin or thick, and it goes on smoothly with the brush applicator. Directions were easy to understand, but I decided to do some things differently regarding prep. Instead of water and baking soda, I just used the microfiber cloth with some diluted isopropyl alcohol (1 part IPA to 3 parts distilled water) for cleaning and instead of foil, I used a piece of cardboard covered with some painters tape to lay the watch on. Other than that, I followed the instructions for application and dry time between coats. The whole process was a little time consuming since you need to wait an hour between coats and it calls for a total of three, but when finished, it leaves behind a very nice, even, shiny clear coat.
Time will tell how durable it is, but for ease of use, looks, and added peace of mind, I think it's great!

Apply a thin layer of solution taking care to not to allow an excessive amount to gather on aluminum foil or the item. 6. Allow item to dry for 1 hour then apply second coat. Allow to dry for another 1 hour and apply third coat. Allow item to sit for 2 hours. 7. Using the included white microfiber cloth, gently buff item to a shine.
