Presidium Multi Tester Iii

 I was skeptical to purchase due to other reviews and the price. But glad I did. Purchased on 4/27 and still working. Must remember clean tip and stone surface prior to use and tilt at an angle....read instructions. Not 100% all the time but just test stone 3 times to verify reading. I would reccomend. This does seem to test moissanite. This model does Not come with power cord but can be purchased seperately. It also takes batteries (AAA x2) so power cord is not an issue.

This review is based on using it for a day. I will probably get better at it when I start using it more often. I use it to test loose stones and also jewelry. It work well, but you can get false readings especially on small stones. It also it difficult to use on stone cuts where there it not much of the flat area. It works well for identifying glass and diamond. I will probably buy another tester that can be used for identifying other stones like Garnet, Topaz, etc.

The tester arrived today and worked well just out of the box ( after installing batteries). It is easy to operate and quickly verified five known diamonds and one known topaz as a non-diamond. You do need to make sure that the tested surfaces are clean which was simple to do by simply wiping the surface of the stone being tested with the supplied cloth.

From a "cold" start, it took just a few seconds for the tester to indicate that it was ready to test. There was no waiting period required as I went from stone to stone. I'm quite happy with the unit.
