much thinner than expected. I was previously using 1mm stretchy line (from "stretch magic" I think). that stuff is like fishing line, but stretchy. I made all my nice Kandi with that but ran out. so when I bought this, I thought is was the same because of the picture and the label of 1mm. however, this stuff is more like thin string. I am not sure why its labeled 1mm (since its much thinner than actual 1mm line). It seems pretty strong (although I can certainly break it by pulling hard) but it's not what I expected. so basically, the product is good, but it's just not what I thought I was buying and thats why I gave 4 stars.
Just got into jewelry making and this works well for a beginner like me.
I use this for Kandi bracelets (to trade at EDM events) and I like it better than the solid clear stuff, it tends to stay in a knot better. I wish it were available in larger quantities, that it were a bit more fray-resistant, and that it would come pre-stretched (after an initial stretch, it gets a bit loose, but it retains its shape from there on out).
I found out about the string cord when I purchased some beads from BEADNOVA. It included some sample cords with it. I bought some of it because it is so easy to tie. No big knots. Strong and flexible. Definitely my type of cords for making beads. Great buy and quality.
Very sturdy however not able to withstand constant stretching. I makes bracelets for me a think amazing. I make them for my daughter and in a couple of days from constantly stretching as If it were a toy hers needs to be remade.

Q&A:
How do I keep the knots from coming untied?
A 1: You need do at least a double knot and then place a touch of clear fingernail polish or glue on it. You may hold the beads away from it while drying and then place a bead (preferably a larger one) over the knot.
A 2: Pull tightly and knot at least 3 times and use a crimp bead with a very small drop of glue for extra security before you crimp the bead. Hold for a few seconds for it to dry. You can always use a larger bead over the crimp bead to hide the knots

I have used Stretch Magic for years but found that it stretched out easily. This item is 1mm flat which means it is not round. The flat, floss-like cord makes it perfect for tying knots. I tie 3 surgical knots then apply a coat of hypo cement to secure. Then I place a crimp cover to hide the knot. I feel much more secure with this item than I have in other products used before.
I like this product, but I was hoping for a thicker string. I didn't realize how thin it would be. Luckily, we were just doing "for fun" bracelets. It was a quick craft while on family vacation. The string was easy to tie, and worked well.
It's okay I made a mistake. I should have it a little heavier. I'm going to be able to use it for making jewelry I just have to make sure not to make it so heavy. Otherwise it's great. So I guess I should give it a 5 🌟
This product although it seems to be made well is actually thinner than 1mm. I compared it with 1mm versions at a store and it is definitely thinner. Having said that, it looks like it will work for making beaded bracelets as my daughter will be doing.
