BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe Magnifier with Attached Deluxe BelOMO Logo Lanyard, Optical Glass with Anti-Reflection Coating for a Bright, Clear and Color Correct View

BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe Magnifier with Attached Deluxe BelOMO Logo Lanyard, Optical Glass with Anti-Reflection Coating for a Bright, Clear and Color Correct View

This is my third 10x triplet loupe. I no longer have the first one but I still have the second one. I always check my loupe for distortion by using it to view parallel lines. My first one that I lost had the best optics. It has less distortion but the loupe is smaller. This BelOMO loupe distorts the lines by pulling the parallel lines together at the edges of the viewing area. This is opposite of my other loupe which widens the space between the parallel lines at the edges of the viewing area. Both distort but this BelOMO loupe distorts less. However, the viewing area seems to be less bright. I wonder if black color of this loupe contributes to this.
The Lanyard attached to the loupe is different than the picture. The one in the Product picture shows that the lanyard could be completely detached from the loupe. The one that I received has a lanyard that cannot be detached completely unless I use a screwdriver to remove one of the two screws. There is a click clip on the lanyard. When detached there is still a short piece that is left attached to the loupe (as shown in the picture I took). Given a choice, I would prefer the lanyard that is being shown in the Product picture. This is just a minor annoyance not a deal breaker.

Very pleased with this little loupe. Easy to use while wearing my eyeglasses, it offers exceptionally crisp views of petrified wood structure. The FOV decreases as you move your eye away, but holds focus and is very usable even with your eye several inches from the lens. Took the attached photo by holding my iPhone up to the lens.

I bought this for a botany class, and now take it along on all my outdoor adventures. Makes connecting with the macrocosms of our natural world infinitely more exciting! I can even take macro iPhone photos through this hand lens. Lightweight, great visual clarity, and has a convenient detachable end-piece of the lanyard to hand it off to a friend.

Tiis is quite a remarkable loupe, totally blown away as to how clear it is when you look through it, 0 distortion, if you want to throw your $ away buying crap for $5.00 or $ 10.00 than go ahead, but if you want to get your moneys worth this is it, I use it with my new KME sharpener, which i think is the finest sharpener for the money I sharpen my $ 200 Takamira knive and i need to see CLEARLY what i am doing.👍👍👍

Excellent quality for the price! As a person who works with optics a lot of time, I can tell when some lens is poor quality or not. I bought this because of some good reviews I read about it, and I can confirm, don't spend more money for something that's going to be the same in 3x the cost of this.

Description

It has come to our attention that there are merchants selling fraudulent product here on Amazon. Only Amateur Geologist manufactures and sells this Deluxe Double Layer Lanyard. Others are cheap fakes .To get the official product buy from authorized USA dealers only. The BelOMO 10x21mm(.85'') triplet loupe magnifier has a viewing area of 0.65 inch (17mm), much larger than the Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet Magnifier. The 3 elements making up this achromatic triplet provide a bright, clear, and color correct view. The 10x power magnification provides the best magnification to depth of field ratio and is the most polular power for a handheld magnifier. The housing and cover are machined metal and coated with a matte black finish and assembled using flathead screws. Belarusian Optical and Mechanical Association (BelOMA), makers of sights for guided weaponry, camera lenses, and other optical components manufacturers these loupes. Highly recommended by the Amateur Geologist. This is the lens we use all the time. Don't let this price fool you. The BelOMO loupe is a FANTASTIC buy. These are quality lenses that stand on their own against the higher priced competition. Take advantage of the recovering Belarus economy and a military supplier finding other revenue streams in a capitalistic market. Each BelOMO loupe we ship is custom treated to prevent the screws from coming loose with usage. We've equipped this loupe with a nylon neck lanyard with a quick release buckle and the BelOMO logo woven into the nylon on both sides to help prevent you from losing it.

Clear and durable. A great loupe. I got it to inspect engagement rings...even though things didnt work out with my fiance, I still have a great loupe.

I'm a Gemologist for 15 years and this loupe is hands down the best for the money. Optics are just shy of a Zeiss loupe(that costs 4 times more) and build quality is great, only problem I've run into is the triplet starts to loosen up a bit more than expected and falls open while worn around the neck. Small price to pay for such and amazing loupe. Would recommend to pros and armatures alike.

For years I used cheapo Made in China loupes, made of cheap materials, and the screws of which would loosen over time. These BelOMO loupes - I bought two -- are super well made, of quality materials, and I expect them to last for as long as I need a loupe.

I needed a loupe to help differentiate between the different types of wetland sedges that I encounter in my work. I've had the cheap loupes that get scratched and fall apart in short order, so I decided to pull the trigger and invest in the best. Well big smiles when I opened the package from Amateur Geologist ... this loupe is solid, the optics are perfect, and the lanyard is quite comfortable. I keep the loupe tucked into an upper pocket on my Filson vest and I find myself using it for much more than sedge analysis. If you are a field ecologist or geologist or botanist, this is the tool for you.

I am comparing it to the Bausch and Lomb 10x triplet.

The lens is larger and it lets in more light.
