A keeper. Just what I needed to mark the sterling silver jewelry I make (I am not a "jeweler"). The stamped mark is tiny...maybe 1mm high but very clear when stamped correctly. I tried this first on copper to see if the impression left was clear - it was. Then I tried it on a scrap piece of sterling. Setup was in this order...steel bench block (sitting on wooden workbench), scrap sterling, set the stamp where you want the impression (with thumb in the indentation) &, holding completely straight, strike solidly one time with a (1 lb.) BRASS hammer. Held with your thumb in the indentation & toward you puts the impression in the correct position (not upside down, if it matters). I hit it with a single, solid direct/flat strike - no need to be overly aggressive or strike multiple times. Doing this will leave a flat, oval impression on the other side of the piece being marked...not something you want on finished work. It's recommended NOT using a regular household hammer. The steel on steel will eventually damage your stamp. The brass absorbs the impact & protects the stamp.
This 925 stamp is of excellent quality! I had previously purchased an argentium 935 stamp from this same company(SE) and was very happy with the clarity of image it stamps. Then I made the mistake of purchasing a 925 stamp somewhere else and the image is never clear on my sterling silver jewelry! So I came back to Amazon specifically to find a 925 stamp and a 999 stamp from the same SE company. So very glad I did as the image is so much clearer and about 1/2 millimeter larger(1.5 mm as opposed to 1mm) which makes it much easier to read. And less expensive to boot! I highly recommend this stamp.
I consider this an excellent buy. The quality of the stamp is more than satisfactory--it is very easy to make a crisp impression, and it doesn't displace too much metal. Below I have attached a picture of the impression the stamp makes, as well as its dimensions.
Works like a charm! Produced a very clean and sharp 925 on my first try. I did hit it a little to hard and it was not centered to well. Given it was my first try at (hallmarking) I'd say not to bad at all. Learning as I go.
Been a silver smith for years ..always been lacking this in my tools ..thank you for making it complete..!

Works perfectly! I did a couple test marks on some scrap metal just to get the strike right, and it comes out clear! The curve is perfect for ring shanks, but you can stamp sheet metal too!
Small enough to fit many pieces of jewelry, big enough to read very clearly. It has a nice bend in it to get around the shanks and ring parts to stamp the interior of pieces.
Works as intended
It's a simple, well-made stamp. Exactly as described and arrived on time and in good condition
Great little stamp, so tiny its so easy to tap once and get a clean mark, the mark is small but perfect.
