The needles are flexible, yet durable enough to get through coarse wooden beads. The of of the needle let's you pinch your thread in place making it effortless for beading.
I work with a lot of pearl and gemstone beads and they sometimes have very small holes - if thread will fit through it twice then these needles will work. They are very flimsy and easy to bend, but that's because they are basically a twisted thin wire. Necessary if you are working with very small items.

I buy a lot on Amazon but I rarely write reviews, I am going to make an exception for these needles. THEY ARE AWESOME. I have a lot of seed beads that I could not get a needle of any size through, these needles go through them with ease. I find the flexibility of the needle a real asset because I can put a curve in the end that allows me to pick up the bead. The needles are delicate but I am ok with that because I have never had any needle so easy to thread. I highly recommend these to any OLDER beader :-)
I've been looking for these collapsable-eye needles for a very long time and was very happy to find them here on Amazon. The hobby stores near my house didn't even know what I was talking about when I asked about these.
I am very impressed because they work better than I hoped they would.
I can draw two strands (12 ply - each) of embroidery thread through a very small hole in a bead with ease, without shredding the thread.
I am truly amazed, and highly recommend this for anyone who is wondering if they would work for such a purpose.

The needles are good. Unfortunately, I bought the wrong needles for my project, so they didn't hold up very well. Lesson learned on my part. These fine needles WILL break if you try to pull them through beads that are too tight.
Greatest for silk tied pearls, really is fine size ( fit the tightest sizes). Fast shipping too!
I've purchased these in the past at a craft store. These arrived in great shape and work perfectly. I tried other beading needles that aren't collapsible and I couldn't even fit the fine thread in the eye. Hated those. Will definitely purchase these again.
