I am a police officer who has put these pin keepers to the test and they have passed! Prior to purchasing these pin keepers, I used the normal cheap versions that come standard with uniform pins. It was a constant battle of loosing them throughout the workday and having to replace them However, with these new pin keepers once you connect them they are there to stay until you are ready to take them off at the end of the day!!! I definitely suggest this product.
These posts stick out about the same amount as the ones that came with my Disney pins but they lock in place to prevent my pins from falling out.
I can "unlock" them with minimal effort but they won't unlock accidentally so I don't have to worry about losing my pins that can be quite expensive.
I will definitely buy these again when the need arises.
EDIT: I have purchased another box of these because they work so well.
Good pins they hold better than the traditional turtle shell looking ones. I like them, not much to say they do their job and because of their design they hold better than the standard pins.
Perfect for the pins on my daughters Girl Scout vest. We had lost a pin prior to switching to these and these attach very securely.
I replaced all of the butterfly backs to my daughter's Girl Scout Cadette uniform (all 8 of them) and these new locking pin keepers feel tight and sturdy. When I was replacing the old butterfly backs with the new locking pin keepers I noticed that one of the new pin keepers was defective and didn't lock on; I simply replaced it with another one. 1 out of 20 defective backs doesn't impact the quality in my opinion. These backs are more bulky than the butterfly backs but I they seem more safe.

These are great. They hold my name pin tight. They don't let go unless you want them too. I should have bought more, because everyone who sees them wants one. I do have to say, 3 of the pin backs in the box didn't fit. The holes on 2 were too big, and 1 was too small, but I got 24 pin backs in the box, so I still came up on the right side. I will probably order more, because I keep bragging about them and giving them away.
Outstanding quality pin backs. Just like the kind I used in the military for my ribbons/name tags.
For those that aren't familiar with these kind of pin back. There are two parts to each assembly (each pin back is already assembled). There's a 1.) larger flanged lower piece which receives the pin and gives it good support and 2.) a smaller spring-loaded top handle which you must lift to release the pin.
The way it locks is no matter how hard you pull at the pin itself, it will not come out until you lift the top handle for the locking pin.
Tested these out and was very satisfied. They feel very comfortable against the chest- a lot more comfortable than the butterfly clasp pin back.
These do a great job of securing the lapel pins I keep permanently attached to my messenger bag. When using traditional pinbacks, I was constantly almost losing them or catching them just before they'd fall off, but I haven't had any issues since switching to these. Even if you take them off and reuse them, the lock never seems to stick or loosen.
Order 2 packs because I go through these on the uniform, have not got to try them out yet so I'll write a update review on how they hold later. However, we're not off to a great start as one of my boxes of damits was empty...yep empty the other on a upnote, did contain the correct number.
Ok it's been about three weeks as I have been using around four of these damits to hold name tags and in an active environment (rubbing and tugging). To date they have all held not one pop off or lost. So I upgraded my star rating to 4 as the product is sound, still miffed over the empty box though.
I like to collect souvenir pins as a memento of my travels. Unfortunately they're usually provided with the cheap "butterfly "-type clasps, which do not hold them on very well. As a result, I'm always losing them. These clips had good reviews, so I thought I would try them out. I have not lost a single pin since I began using them.
