My wife is not a jewelry-maker so much as a 'jewelry-repairer' and 'jewelry-modifier.' She likes to take her old jewelry and modify it so that it's different to fit a style or just because.... Also, if something breaks, she fixes it herself ... if she's got the right parts and tools. This Magicfly Jewelry Making Starter Kit looks to have both the tools (including bent tweezers) and the parts—thousands of them. Now don't expect real gold links to be included, but most links and several clasps, including lobster claps, are included in the kit—nearly 4,000 in all! For the person interested in designing and making jewelry from scratch, there are enough pieces to get a running start, and as a Starter Kit, you need the quality you can practice on and make mistakes—and lose! (Jewelry makers will tell you there's a black hole somewhere that sucks in all the dropped and lost jewelry pieces...) Anyway, I think this kit is a great one to start with and for someone like my wife who just wants to repair and modify jewelry—it looks like a lifetime's supply.
Great starter set or for simple pieces. The quality of these are what you would expect at this price point. I would not use pricey beads or materials with these metals out of failure fears. However, for the simple light weight stack necklaces I am making, these are great. I love the variety of colors and this goes nicely with my jewelry making accessories.
