Merits of UTOOL engraver
1. Comfortable to hold, and I believe that it would be easy to use whether you are a newbie or a professional
2. Very durable bit. It is paired with 4 bits. I was worried at first that only 4 bits would not be enough to use, but now I find they are really durable- I have tried on the metal, wood and leather, but the bit is still sharp enough to continue.
3. Powerful and perfect effect. Whether in soft leather or hard metal, the carved pattern is very clear.
4. A little hot for 30 minutes use on leather. I read in the reviews and someone said that this engraving pen was easy to be overheated. I worked on leather for about half an hour (there was a pause, but it didn't take long), the engraving pen did get hot, but just a little, not overheated.
Demerits about the engraver：
1.A little noisy. If you only occasionally engrave, then there is no problem, but if you want to do a lot of engraving for a long time, I suggest you prepare some ear defenders.
2. Stronger sense of shock. Perhaps because of its strong power, the engraver shakes a lot when running and the hand will be a little numb after a long time work.
The engraver works smoothly, without a hitch, at least in my case. Although it’s not perfect, I’m still satisfied. I’ll continue to watch how long it lasts. Altogether, I would recommend this tool for those who like to do small scale, hobbyist work, DIY, and similar stuff.
Works pretty well, I found that pushing it worked better than pulling it. I tested it out on plastic, wood, and steel. I wanted to add a personal touch to some of my equipment (axe and knife sheath shown), though these were more of practice than anything else. It's pretty loud, you may want to wear ear plugs, but it shouldn't do any damage to your ears. The stencil tool was useful, but some worked better than others. Considering the price tag, being able to engrave steel is pretty impressive.
I have tried the engraver on metal and wood, it worked great! Compared with wood, the pattern carved on the metal is more obvious，maybe because the wood I chose is too darker in color, but that’s ok. It holds like a big fat pencil, not that heavy as I thought before, and easy to control. Like others said, it seems a bit loud, but it doesn't matter, I think that’s normal, because this engraver has a strong power, if you choose the slower settings, the noise will be smaller. I tried all the different speeds and found that the carved line would be more coherent and steadier with slower speed setting. As the speed goes faster, the mark gets deeper and less coherent. All in all, I’m satisfied with it.
This has been a great little tool. One of my hobbies is making arcade game cabinets like there used to be all over the place and with this I can easily add some little customizations.
One thing I noticed is that the allen wrench is pretty flimsy, but I didn't buy it for the allen wrench.
It's relatively easy to use. Before you put the head in you'll want to loosen it almost completely, put it in, then tighten it. After that just plug it in and flip the switch!
This engraver replaced a much older engraver I had - a clear improvement in performance. Variable speed should be a plus when I get better with the product. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because I was hoping for a much higher quality engraving over my previous engraver - I got a small improvement due to the power of the engraver but was looking for sharper engravings. It may be that I need more practice or professional quality engraving requires a different tool. This engraver is worth having it in your workshop.

The varying speed is a plus along with the multiple tips provided - although it seems a bit loud at higher speed, it doesn't take away from an overall good product. Works great for marking tools and other personal items to aid in recovery it taken - or simply whom to return to if mistakenly taken. Thanks!
I wanted something cheap, small and portable, and this works fine. The stencil set included is a little bit of a joke - since the tip of the engraver is too thick to fit through the holes.
Very loud, but so worth the money! I’m a crafter, and can officially say nothing is safe anymore lol. Even my husband wants me to engrave his name into his work tools.
Love the price. Works well, but it is loud. We used it to label a cast iron Dutch oven and other metal camping gear. Tested it on some wood and seems to work well.
I gave this to a friend because she loves working with wood..building and refurbishing and detailing outdoor and indoor furniture..she absolutely loves it!!
