Beadalon 201A-011 Slim Chain Nose Pliers for Jewelry Making

Beadalon 201A-011 Slim Chain Nose Pliers for Jewelry Making

The pliers are of about average quality for jeweler’s pliers and cost somewhat less than average. What makes them really shine in my opinion is the handles; most jeweler's pliers have skimpy short handles; after a few hours of work I have a red mark in my palm the size and shape of the end of the handle, no matter how well it's padded. These on the other hand have handles that are actually long enough to go all the way across the palms of adult male humans. Thus, the end of said pliers does not poke me in my vulnerable tendons.

One star off because of the nine I bought (teaching supplies), one pair clicks/squeaks every time you release.

This is a fantastic pliers. Most miniature needle-nose pliers with tips this fine have short little handles that hurt my hands. These actually have full sized handles that allow you to get good leverage. They also have a very fine tip, letting me do my most delicate work. I love them. I should note though that I am on my second pair now. I was using my first pair to flatten copper wire and the combination of the long handles and that I am a large guy with a powerful grip were too much for the tool and I snapped the handle off. That said, I still went out and bought a new pair as I have come to rely on these for all my armature/wire needs. These pliers have earned a coveted spot in my travel tool case!

Use these for making chainmaille jewelry. They work very well bending 18 and 20 gauge stainless steel jump rings. They're also useful for 18 gauge bronze. I haven't used them with titanium yet, but would be very careful working with anything thicker than 20 gauge in heavier metals.

These pliers have a longer handle than the Beadalon's that I got at a local craft shop and at first I thought I wouldn't like them, but now that I'm used to them, I find the shorter ones harder to work with.Use these for making chainmaille jewelry. They seem to do the job when using them on loops and wire. I've had them for a couple months and they still work well, the handle isn't Twisted as I thought it might be.

The much smaller nose is exactly what I needed for tight spots in wire wrapped jewelry. This is great, love the quality, it's a "must have"
