I don't know too much about hat pins, but I think these look nice, I think you are supposed to add your own decorations. You have to take that cap off of the pointy end, stick it through the hat and your hair and then put the cap back on. I have used one a few times and it holds the hat on somewhat. It all depends on how you have our hair styled I guess. I did do some research on how to wear a hat pin. These look nice and they are a mid size hat pin, you can get shorter or longer ones as well.

I really like these hat pins but I’m using them in an unconventional way. I’m a crotcheter and am using them to pin pin my pieces together while I join them with yarn!
These are a good length to get creative with and the shank is a good thickness for my needs. Love the fact that they all have a protective cover over the sharp part, so not as likely have too many accidental finger pricks. Very satisfied with both the price and the look.

These were actually more than I thought they would be: longer and the head is removable, too. They work great except on some hats they would be a little too long. But I use them and it keeps my hat on in the wind here in Hawaii.
