Great for the price, but does have some issues that you should be aware of. As another viewer mentioned, the 30x magnifier is a good size but the 60x and 90x are tiny. Also, because you have to get the object very, very close to the 60x and 90x lenses in order for the lenses to be usable,the fact that these lenses are on the same surface as the 30x make them difficult to use with curved pieces of jewelry. There is no way to maneuver the lenses up close to interior curves of (for instance) earring hoops, where many karat stamps and maker's marks are ,located.
Again, for the price, it's a great tool. I like the fact that the lenses slip into and out of a holder, so you can carry the magnifier in your pocket or purse without worrying about the lens getting scratched. I also love being able to have the bright LED light on or off, plus a black light. Very handy! The entire tool is small and easy to carry to an estate sale or shop. I will be keeping it in my purse.
I've had manu loupes with the little hinges that broke after a few months. I purchased this loupe because it doesn't have hinges.
As other reviews said, the 60x and 90x lenses are too small to see unless you hold the loupe really far away and when you hold it far away, the item you're looking at appears upside down; if the loupe is close the item appears right side up.
There's no button to turn the lights off but if you don't slide it all the way up, the lights won't go on. The lights are REALLY bright when looking through the loupe; they reflect off the metal.
The loupe is a a little smaller than a pack of cigarettes, which I like because that makes it a lot easier to hold than small, hinged loupes but still small enough to carry around.
All in all, this loupe does what I need it to do. Great purchase as long as you know exactly what you're getting.
For the price, you absolutely can't go wrong with this LED Jewelry Loupe. It is very compact, easily fits in a pocket or purse, the LED's are very bright to enable you to see finer details of what you are looking at. In my case , I purchased this for my grandchildren and I to inspect minerals, gemstones and other geological stones and fossils. We were all very happy, as we saw more to these specimens than we ever did before. Very easy to use, just slide it out and it turns on automatically. Slide it back in and it shuts off. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in seeing the fine details of something.
Thus is just the most wonderful magnifier. It is really well made, feels solid in the hand, the magnification is great. It fits nicely in the pocket, and with the flick if the switch it lights up. I couldn't be more pleased. I'm planning to buy another one, I like this one so much, and the price is rediculously low for what you get. The only thing is, it's so well made I don't think I will need another for awhile. Still, I think it would make a nice stocking stuffer, and I would be thrilled to give this as a gift.
When I ordered this loop I had no idea just how strong it was. I usually use a 10x, basically for jewelry. The first thing I looked at was a very small splinter in the tip of my finger...WOW...I thought I was looking at a tree trunk!!! It's great for seeing into the little nooks and crannys of some "textured" jewelry. I love it, especially for the fact that it lights up. GREAT product.

Great value for the money. Works as described. The reason I bought this particular model was the 40 X 25 mm magnification. Most were significantly less or had a smaller view window. The ultraviolet LED for inspecting watermarks and currency is very helpful as is the high intensity white light. All metal construction with chrome finish and comes in a plastic egg shaped insulated holding case with key to change the 3 LR1130 batteries when depleted. It works surprisingly well without the light assist.and is 3 to 4 times more powerful than the standard loop. Buy it!
I was looking for a good, but inexpensive magnifier to make it easier to check out some old coins and jewelry I have. This magnifier is very nicely made with all metal construction. The led light makes it easy to see what you're looking at, and the UV light is a nice bonus for checking out currency. It comes with a nice case, too. I don't know if this is professional quality. But for the average person this works great, especially for the price.
I bought this item not for jewelry but to see if it could help me identify the sex of my smaller tarantula molts. Larger tarantula molts are easier to identify the sex to the naked eye but if you are dealing with slings to quarter sized tarantulas and even fifty cent piece sized tarantulas it is difficult to tell if you have a male of female spider. Speaking for myself this product is awesome. This does the job for sure. As described this item has a 30x and 60x magnification and both work really well for looking at smaller objects. The clarity is good and you can see great details you would not be able to see with the naked eye or a ordinary magnifying glass. Has LED light and protective case and also comes with little tool that gives you easy access in the battery compartment for smooth changing. Nice compact size but powerful. I'm sure the possibilities are endless and left up to the owners imagination. Very cool product. I recommend!!!
Excellent product, small, very good quality, the magnifiers are very good the 90x magnifier is small, white light and UV light excellent, i recommend 100%.
The lighting was unintuitive withthe switches on the back but I figured it out. Overall a good product no complaints
