This hammer is just what I needed
Love it for my jewelry making !!
I am an amateur wire jewelry maker. I have constructed jewelry for years, but this is my first venture into wire creations. I love the look of textured wire, so this was close to the top of the "hammer list". Oh boy...don't get me wrong...this is a great hammer! If I were working with metal, this would be a 5+ hammer. If you are working with wire, like me, be very careful! First of all, unless you are working with full soft wire...don't even think about touching this until your design is complete! If you are working with hard, or half hard, once you hammer the texture into the wire, it is written in stone! You can't change your mind, so be sure you are finished. The pin stripe gives a really neat sparkly effect to the wire. Just don't get carried away, or it will become so brittle...well, you get the idea. The dimples are just that...dimples. Now, I'm talking wire here. I've seen the videos of what this does on sheet metal, and it is really cool. Unfortunately, wire is way more fragile than sheet metal. I like the effects with this, and I'm learning to use a heavier touch. If you gently tap, tap, tap it just gets harder and harder, actually getting almost too hard to create the texture. Like anything else, practice will help. I rate my ability as a 3, but the hammer is still a 5.

I definitely recommend. The tool is comfortable and performs as it should in texturing my metals. I have no complaints and would purchase again. I personally think these two textures are essential for your collection. It's held up just fine to several months of use- no sign of any problems at this point.
