Don't try to sand these at all before applying epoxy - it exposes the metal below way faster than I expected. I have super sensitive ears and the few times I've worn these they have been fine for me. I'll probably leave another post later if they ever tarnish and cause a reaction for me.
I think these are really beautiful. I used then to make some crystal earrings. The backs are very secure. The only down side is that they still irritate your ears if you have the nickel allery like i do. However, if you do not have this allergy they will be the perfect buy at a great price. I only had one or two backs that i had to force the back through leaving a sharp piece sticking out, which could be filed down. I would purchase again, for making jewelry but not for myself.
It is necessary to make sure that the back is a good fit for the earring, but once you put them on, they are secure. I made a good investment and feel comfortable that I won't loose a special keepsake.
The quality of these earring posts are great, aside from being one earring back short which isn't a big deal I'd say they're perfect
The only reason I give it a 4 is because the size they really are, I expected them to be a little larger (which could be my fault) but they are super super tiny.
