I specialize in custom PC modding, more specifically in component modifications such as reference model GPU shroud mods, case mods and other associated mods. I generally use a scroll saw to do quite a bit of my detail work, but I must admit there are certain limitations when dealing with plastics. I decided to give this saw a shot to see if it would suit my needs and the results were amazing! I can't believe I never added a jeweler's saw to my tool arsenal up until now? Thank goodness I have!
The level of precision this offers is unparalleled when you require a detailed cut with no room for mistakes when cutting plastics (acrylic, hard plastics etc.). If you're a PC modder or work with designs via plastics in general, you absolutely need this tool!
When I first opened the package and looked at the blades I was very skeptical whether the saw could cut any metal. With the small blades I had to really look closely to make sure they were in the correct position. I purchased this saw to make small and intricate cuts in stainless steel flatware and cutlery in order to make pendants and bracelets. I have found the saw works well in cutting stainless steel if one is patient and does not apply much down force while cutting. This cannot be treated like a hacksaw as the blades are much to delicate. I found that during several longer cuts that I had to readjust the saw to ensure I had enough tension in the blade as it would start to deflect. I imagine it would work very well with softer metals such as gold or silver. Overall I am very pleased with this product.
This was exactly what I was searching for. The item came in a nice package along with saw blades. To my surprise, these blades are wayyyyyy smaller than I thought they would be. This made it extremely easy to cut through small items like rings for sizing, etc.
The pack of blades that came with this surprised me even more when finding out not only had there been a few packed together but there have to be almost 20 blades for each little set of them! Which made for a very very large amount of blades one could use that I was not suspecting. The picture does not reflect this! There were way more blades then what the picture reflects.
It is a bit tricky to see how to clamp the blades in but once you figure it out it is easygoing from there. There is also the additional clamp along the mainframe that allows for other adjustments. Other ones I saw did not have this.
I ordered this to try to cut some thin metal (a penny). I'm not sure if the metal is simply too hard or if the quality of the blads is not what I need but I broke like 5 blads in a matter of a couple minutes with no progress on my cuts so I gave up. The saw seems to be decent quality so I'm hoping to find blades a bit more durable. Had the blads held up I would give 5 stars but I don't feel it fair to give less than 4 in case I'm using it wrong
I have nothing but good things to say about this saw. I have used it many times since I bought it. It is working way better than I thought it would considering what I paid for it. Great product.

The saw is easy to use but the blades are very easy to broke during use. I already broke 6 blades with cutting small piece of metal but it works. This could just be me not being a professional.
Perfect for cutting metals and making jump rings. I am in a jewlery 1 class and this is exactly what I needed at an affordable price.
Really love that it comes with the blades. Same kind of blade I used in school.
